View of an artist’s representation of the “City of David” prior to its expansion.  This diagram is posted in the area where Reich and Shukron are excavating the “Pool Tower.”

On the right side of the diagram the Kidron valley flows from north to south.  Notice the series of dams in the Kidron.  Evidently the gardens behind the dams were watered from Channel II.

The Old Ancient Core of Jerusalem is surrounded by only one wall—some other representations of it have two walls, an outer and an inner wall.  Note especially the two towers that project from the wall on the right (east) side of the city.  Those towers are the artist’s representation of the “Pool Tower” and its assumed mate.  Thus, they are in the area of the Gihon Spring and the recently discovered pool.

On the left (west) side of the city the “Central Valley” is visible.
