Step Stone Structure

Step Stone Structure

View looking west at the "step-stone structure."  This structure rises to a height of 80 ft. [25 m.] and probably supported an important structure—possibly a palace or fortress (in the area where the guard structure at the top of the image).  The date of the initial construction of this structure is debated, but it seems that it dates to the Early Iron Age (ca. 1200-1000 B.C.).
