Work Area

View a reconstructed work area of an Israelite House.  Note on the flagstone floor (some were of dirt) and on the right side of the image the hanging loom.  In the center of the image are a large storage jar and a basin used for foot-washing.

Note the column bases and the timbers that supported the roof of this building.  This reconstruction assumes that the central courtyard, from which this picture was taken, was open to the sky, and that this building was only one storey high.  The roof timbers are clearly visible.

This full size reconstruction is on the grounds of Haaretz Museum in north Tel Aviv.
