View looking at the “Müezzin Mahfili”—that is the rectangular covered structure in the right center portion of the image.  A Muezzin stands on this and chants responses to the prayers of the imam (the head of the mosque).

Colorful banks of windows line the east wall.  Note the rug and the multiple rectangles.  During prayers each person has a rectangle in which they stand, kneel, and prostrate themselves.
