Southern Gate Exterior

View of the “gate,” prior to excavation, that is located on the southeastern portion of the city wall of Khirbet Qeiyafa.

Note the large foundation stones to the left and right of the filled in opening.  The smaller stones between the two larger ones are evidently from a more recent rebuild of this “gate/wall.”  The wall is about 5 ft. [1.5 m.] high.
