Manger and Pillars

Manger and Pillars

View of a manger and two pillars from Megiddo that are on display in the courtyard of the Rockefeller Museum.  This grouping is from one of the so–called “stables” of Megiddo.  Note the holes in the pillar where horses/donkeys could be tethered.

Others have argued that these structures at Megiddo were used as storerooms, rather than stables—as at Beersheba.
