View looking southwest at the northern slope of the Herodium, just above the area where “Herod’s Tomb” was excavated.

From left to right, note the sloping stone “mantle” of the Herodium, the lower outline of a stone “door frame,” and on the lower right side, the vertical stone wall that is just above the area of “Herod’s Tomb” that is just off the right (north) side of the image.
