Altar

View looking east at the main altar (lower portion of image) and the large mosaic behind it, that are situated at the east end of the Basilica of the Annunciation.  In the upper portion of the mosaic Jesus Christ commissions Peter while the Virgin Mary sits enthroned (in blue) behind them.  Gathered around them are apostles, popes, martyrs, etc.
