View of the central stela on which two arms are raised toward a "divine lunar symbol (crescent and circle).  It is part of a collection of 10 standing stones, a seated man, a crouching lion, and a slab for offerings—all carved out of basalt.

These objects were found by Yigael Yadin in Area C on the west side of the lower tell—in the so-called "stelae temple".  They date to the 13th century B.C.  They were destroyed by the end of the 13th century B.C.—the end of the occupation of the Lower Tell.  This destruction may be attributed to  the Israelites—if you hold to a "late date conquest" of the Land of Canaan by Israel.  It would date to the destruction by Barak and Deborah—if you hold to an "early date conquest" of the Land of Canaan by Israel.
