Four-Chamber Gate

Four-Chamber Gate

View looking east from inside the city through the pathway that leads through the (partially reconstructed) four–chambered gate.  The basalt paved road way is visible leading away through the gate—to outside the city.

Two of the four chambers can bee seen, left of center, as can two of the "standing [upright] stones" that were placed here, just inside the gate.  The function of these stones maybe cultic.
