Jordan & Jericho

Jordan & Jericho

View of the Jordan River flowing into the Dead Sea.  Note the bridge and ferry boat on the left (north) side of the image and the two fish in the Jordan River.  The one is blissfully swimming toward to the Dead Sea while the other is swimming upstream with a panic look on his face—as if to say “don’t go down there!”

To assist in interpretation compare the Labeled Map .

Left (north) of center is a red roofed church that has an exterior wall with twelve white stones embedded in a wall (= Gilgal commemorating Joshua’s crossing of the Jordan River—Joshua 3–4).

Just below center is a walled city with four towers and two gates and that is surrounded by nine palm trees (= Jericho).  The red roofed buildings inside the city are churches. For a detail of Jericho Click Here.
